Hello All,

After years of using names like Tcheuchterloon, (which was mainly to confuse Americans), I'm using my real moniker. I was a member of Piping Connection before under the name MacSpadger, (Which is what my Dad used to call me. Why? I dunno, he was from Hamilton and they are strange there). But when I went to log in one day you'se had all buggered aff and left me.

I'm currently not permanently attached to any pipe band, but I'll probably join up with one before the year is out.

I started as a piper in 2006, hence the name. I play for the Atholl Highlanders Pipes and Drums USA. I serve as Band Secretary and as a Pipe Corporal. Two duties I enjoy. I have gotten a lot form the band, so I want to give it back by helping to organize things, and to teach the new comers.

I am a sigle piper who can play with others. I compete. I am not at a competitive level yet. It will take a lot more time and work. I still compete to make my self a better piper. I also play ...

For the newer members amongst us, a quick resume,

The older hands can feel free to laff, abuse, and throw buns as normal

Born in 1965, I am now a handsome and athletic 44, ,

I started piping at age 11, in a small 12th July band, after being forced to go by my father, who was a pipe band lover, and incidently an early member of FMM, although he never competed with them.

I was in and out of this band for a few years, and it was only when I was about 14 that I got really interested ...

Hello,

You can start throwing buns at me instead of Gordy. Started playing tenor drum in 1998 with Ayr Pipe band Society in 3B and moved on to Kilmarnock Pipe Band in 4A in 2000 for a season. After a bad year at Kilmarnock I moved to Cumnock & District Pipe Band in 4A and played there for a good while and lifted the Best Bass Section prize at the Worlds in 2004 and got moved up to 3B the following year. In 2006 I took a big move to Boghall & Bathgate which was ok but too much hassle ...

Born in Edinburgh in 1954, he began learning with a private tutor at the age of eight. During his piping career he has played with several bands from Novice Juvenile to Grade 1. He is proud to have played with Strathclyde Police Pipe Band during their "glory years" of the 1980's and was one of the players when this band won six world championships in a row between 1981 and 1986, a feat as yet unbeaten by any other pipe band.

I started to learn pipes in December 2002.

I am now Pipe Sergeant with Richmond Town Pipes and Drums and The Rowan Pipe Band (same people, long story).

My PM wants me to take over as PM when he retires (I have a lot to learn before that will happen).

I do solo gigs (15 this year) generally weddings. I love playing and am always trying to improve, but I have a long way to go yet, IMHO.

The name comes from a drunken afternoon in The Tan Hill Inn, County Durham (highest pub in England) and ...
