Least we forget Empty Least we forget

~~~~~~~~~~~~~THE POPPY~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Least we forget 1010
Why are they selling poppies mother?
The poppies child are flowers of love for the men who marched away.
But why have they chosen a poppy mother? Why not a beautiful rose?
Because my child, men fought and died in fields where poppies grow.
But why are the poppies so red mother?
Why are the poppies so red?
Red is the colour of blood my child, the blood that our soldiers shed.
The heart of the poppy is black mother, why does it have to be black?
Black my child is the symbol of grief for the men who never came back.
But why mother dear are you crying so? Your tears are like winter rain.
My tears are for you my child, for the world is forgetting again.
That was lovely Iain. Thanks for posting that. What a sacrifice the veterans made for our country. I will be wearing my poppy in pride. It is a shame that the world has forgotten how to smile again.
I've been trying to get one of those pun badges but to no avail.
I have a poppy on the front of my car constantly.
It is to easy to forget but I have been glad to see that all the schools I work in promote the fact that it is good to remember the fact that so many died and are still doing so for our country.
Redneck the RBL clubs are diminishing fast in this area unfortunately. They are having to combine areas to survive.
