Dead as a Dodo
I know this is the normal 'quiet' time in the Pipe band World, but a whole week without even one post? not even one of Ron's jokes, got to be a record surely

I was beginning to think everyone was off partying and someone forgot to tell us.

Re: Dead as a Dodo
LOL I know what you mean.
Today i thought I would play my pipes, before getting some housework done. By the time I played my pipes, then my pc, then my Hornpipe, my lips feel like I've had anaesthetic and botox pumped into them all at once.
AND I still haven't done any housework LOL

Re: Dead as a Dodo
......I'm just glad to see that it wasn't you that was being lowered down.....
Come on folks.........I know it's traditionally the quiet time, but if there's nothing piping-wise to talk about........surely there's something else.

Re: Dead as a Dodo
.....it's about quality, not quantity.......
We could of course, go down the road of......
"the bass drummer in the band doesn't get on with others, what should I do, oh worshipful red-haired one?"
or
"is it OK to wear a purple and yellow spotted necktie with a Prince Charlie jacket?"
You'll get none of that in here. Far more important stuff, such as......
"should Dai get his commode covered in Ancient/Modern/Reproduction/Dress/Hunting or Muted Anderson tartan?...."
(p.s...obviously....Ancient)
or
"given Redneck's height, should he get children's rosary beads?"

Re: Dead as a Dodo
Have to admit, I have been getting worried about the lack of posts recently? Not even any slanderous comments from "the Far East" well? not his usual overload. Even the Emerald Isle has been exceedingly quiet.
I would have thought as we are now well into February, things should be starting to hot up a bit in the practice hall, the rumour mill about who is playing what, how and why should be running riot? Is it the same "elsewhere" I ask, or do "other" Forums still have those tittilating threads that have you on the edge of your seat with excitement?

Re: Dead as a Dodo
I quit posting because I thought it was me(still do), every time I posted in the Coffee Shop Room, there would be no further replies for days.....
Seems like the 'good ol days are gone'. The other forum seems to have now banned 'the giveaways' where one could engage in idle chat. Enjoyed that immensely, but alas no more it seems....
Only can guess, twitter and facebook are the rage now and forums are going the way of the dodo........
Oh well, life goes on, time to go shovel snow, we got around 18 inches overnight, will take me til Monday to dig out from this one.....

Dave.....don't you go throwing that snow away........send it over here, preferably sometime between May and September when the temperature and humidity are awful.
I 'did' Avatar yesterday with the boys.....what a picture....the special effects really are something else.
And as for Sigourney Weaver....how old is she now? And still hot!

I know what you mean. I don't think time differences and change in peoples circumstances helps at all, but perhaps we should all make more of an effort is we want to keep this forum alive.

Re: Dead as a Dodo
I come in here every morning and try to think of something to post about, if Ron has not given me an opening to reply to his jibes that is. But not being involved as it were in the actual playing within a band, I cannot really talk about what is happening.
If anyone cares to suggest something that could get the forum moving again, then by all means let us know, when you consider that up till yesterday we had a total of THREE posters now and then.
Mind you I run another forum for over 50s, which is backed by a National Company, and despite having a membership of some 500, we only get about 15 to 20 posting regularly? So having a large membership, does not mean more postings(we know that to be true from elsewhere?)
So any suggestions on how to get things moving on here would gratefully accepted.

Re: Dead as a Dodo
....might speed things up if everyone was to post a pic of a hot babe in tartan, be it a teenie weenie miniskirt or just a tartan brassiere.....
In fact, given that all the lassies on here are hot babes......get the husbands/boyfriends out with cameras....
And Dai....trust me, YOU are not a hot babe so please keep these personal photos....personal!
