Joint FMM / SFU concert
I was informed today that the proposed joint concert between Field Marshall Montgomery, and Simon Fraser University is confirmed and will take place at the waterfront hall, Belfast on 6th August 2010
No Major Details on tickets or prices yet, but as the waterfront holds about 2200 people, sales are likely to be brisk. I would assume that tickets will be available through band members, the waterfront ticket office and the RSPBANI branch office
It promises to be an interesting evening, where in my humble opinion, the best pipe corps in the world will be on stage with the best drum corps, although not in the same tartan!
It also adds another top concert to the seasons events, with SLOT doing the pre worlds, and Boghall doing a concert in April in Livingston.
I will post more details when I get them

Think al hit the Barrington that night, it'll be cheaper.......hear them fer free at the worlds.
SFU have chickened outa the contest here in N.Ireland.
Al Cal 'n L.A Scots will be here too, both competing at all the contests prior to the worlds whilst they are staying in Belfast on the run up to the worlds.
Wonder why SFU refused to compete

I think its a politics thing,
It appears to me, and was confirmed to an extent last year,.that N american bands think they don't get a fair hearing from UK judges, you remember the yapping after the foreign judges were not at the worlds.
Went all quiet after SFU won it..
But i reckon that T Lee thinks the slightest slip may let FMM in, and will wreck their chances of the worlds,. so no go.
Right or wrong, I dunno, but its his choice, IMO they should play, and appear a bit 'wimpy' for missing it.
As for the Barrington, no mate, not allowed, night before a comp, so no liquor, sasparilla and baked bean sandwiches for you
