The piper in the photo by the way is P/M Robert Pinkman formerly of the KOSB......cousin to the other P/M Robert Pinkman a.k.a. Bobby Pinkman.

They both played at one time or another in Bilston Glen Colliery and the L & B Fire Brigade PB.

Robert was a gid player too Ron. Yer a minda infermation. lol. ( information..., I know, but it's just how we say it here lol. )

LOL....I used to work in J & R Glen during my school/university summer holidays when Bobby Pinkman was making the bagpipes in the basement along with Joe Hagan and Bert Rowan.

Later on I played in the L & B Fire Brigade when Bobby was P/M of the band. I never did meet his cousin however, although my father knew Bobby's father when P/M of Bilston Glen.

p.s.....the old days are coming back.....the Eagle Pipers are back up and running again....and my father went along to the last session :-
