Enforced school holidays,.....???!!!!
Don't even get me started bout teachers......
Teachers are well below lawyers and politicians on my list, and that's saying something!
I received correspondence recently from one of my kid's teachers, the head of the geography department and she could not even spell the word 'geography'.......and it wasn't a one off. Her written english was appalling (she is from England) and she gave the impression that she was either obtuse or just didn't care.
Another teacher took the liberty of addressing me by my first name (I've never even met the teacher) and yet another gave my daughter an annual school prize for a subject....she hadn't even done for two years....duh.
Bring back the dominie of yesteryear.
Teachers who gave their all for their students and who really cared. Teachers who gave up their time to teach extra-curricular activities and who really cared for their 'profession'.
Not a bunch of self-serving youngsters who have spent some time in academia and who think the world owes them something.
p.s....my wife teaches....which is why I'm whispering the above.........

Re: Return to work
For once I have to agree with you Ron(Now there's a first) I went to see my 15 year old Grand daughters school play, the Arts teacher i swear blind was younger than her, he had flip flops on? Honest NO socks, torn jeans and a sweat shirt thing that had never seen the inside of a washing Machine, When i mentioned this to Emily, she said"Oh Grandad he is lovely"??
Dont remember any of my teachers being lovely cruel sadistic swines maybe?

Ron,
How great minds think alike,
I have 4 kids at school, 2 in Primary and 2 in Secondary, the standard from some teachers is so low it defies belief, attitude, spelling, personal hygiene
Not all by any means, but more than enough to spoil the reputation of the rest,
As for politicians and farmers?
Most politicians only tell lies when their mouths move, and I'm surprised farmers get any work done they're so busy filling in grant aid forms to get paid for not growing things etc,
I wonder would the EU pay me £50,000 not to grow potatoes next year? I would accept £20,000 not to grow carrots
